Ayurveda is originated in
India and it is the most popular holistic form of medicines that people trust
rapidly. It is nothing but the herbal science. It is a combination of two
Sanskrit words, ‘Ayur’ means life and ‘veda’ means knowledge so it means
knowledge of life. By using Ayurvedic medicines, one can naturally get a cure for
their diseases.
Paralysis is a loss of muscles
function which causes weakness on one side of the body. In Ayurveda, Paralysis is known as Pakshaghat
that is associated with doshas of Pitta and Vatta. It is observed that at acute
paralytic stage, the care is done in hospitals and once the patient is
discharged, Ayurvedic treatment for paralysis should be initiated at the
earliest. It has shown better results and speedy recovery of patients.
Causes of Paralysis
What causes paralysis? Stroke is the major
cause of this problem. Other causes are trauma such as a broken or severed
spinal cord, or direct trauma to a nerve and environmental factors such as
toxins, radiation or poisons. One can also face sensory loss in paralysis.
Paralysis is of two types’ - complete paralysis (In this whole body gets
affected) and partial paralysis (when specific body part gets affected). Most
common is facial paralysis that affects one side of the face.
Body servicing - Panchkarma
As our vehicles need timely servicing for their smooth
working and increased lifespan; same way, our body also needs to be serviced so
that we all can stay healthy. Ayurveda has one prime concept to keep our body,
disease free and this concept is known as Panchkarma. Word "Pancha"
means 5 and "Karma" means procedures.
In order to derive
maximum benefits, Panchkarma procedures are adopted. In this method, medicated
oil is used for massage followed by steam fomentation using medicines. But in
case patient has high blood pressure then paralyzed limbs need to be massaged
separately using techniques like ‘Pizichil’ or ‘Pinda sweda’. These procedures
can do wonders if physiotherapy also included with these treatments. These
therapies are considered as the best Ayurvedic treatment for paralysis.
Natural
way to cure
Natural therapies can help a lot. Oil
massage can also be beneficial for patients. As per Ayurveda, the main line of
treatment for paralysis is by normalizing the flow of Prana Vayu which is done
with the help of various therapies. As all the medicines in Ayurveda are made
up of herbs, there are no side effects in Ayurvedic Treatment.
Ayurveda also believes in the importance
of diet. Ayurvedic physician ensures that patient takes proper diet when the
treatment is going on. Each component of your diet is selected by physicians,
because with any disease there are large number of dietary indications and
contra indications.
Ayurveda says that nostrils are the portals
of head, so any drug that is administrated through nose reaches all corners of
head and mitigates the doshas. Ayurveda is a bliss for people who are the
victims of paralysis. It is not in demand only in India but it is recognized all
over the world.
