Reasons Why Health Care is Not Possible without Nurses

Nursing in Healthcare

Years ago, there was the notion of nurses working as the assistant to the doctors and the one who were just limited to the bed pan and sponge bath. But now, nurses have successfully changed their identity by their dedicated and selfless service. They help to bring the smile on the suffering face of people. The nurses are now the caregivers, the communicators, the teachers and the health professionals. The hard fact is, the people yet understands only when they sit at a hospital for their beloved ones.

The health care system will face many challenges with regard to the nursing involvement, bedside management, emergency care of the patients and in the OT rooms by assisting the doctors. It would be completely impossible to run a hospital without the nursing faculty. They have become the backbone of the health care system.

Role of the Nurse in Health care system

The nurses provide a complete package care to the patient in terms of out-patient management by taking care of patient’s health by giving medications, injections, infusing intravenous fluids, observing and monitoring the inpatient cases, maintaining the communication with the patients and the doctors. They also help in managing the inside hospital environment between the doctors, staff, and patients.

The role of the nurse is also to educate the people about the disease, medication and the treatment plan. Sometimes it becomes hard for a doctor to convince the patient regarding their treatment plan, but thanks to the nurses who always make them ready for the appropriate treatment. They give the assurance better than the doctors personally to the patients.

Beyond Bedside Services
The nurses are not restricted only to the hospital walls, but they also provide their care and communication to home, health clinics, private physician clinics, air ambulances and emergency health services. The patient’s communication and the gentle care becomes the primary aim of the nurse who works round the clock throughout the year.

Nurses are committed to treating the patients beyond bedside and at home too. Some patients do require complete bed rest for months which requires home care. To help them, the nurses provide immediate nursing care at home to ease the patient’s suffering.
They stay at patient’s home for the patient’s benefits irrespective of their self-commitment to the hospital and family.

Work on Wheels
Nurses work on wheels for the immediate patient care in life-saving emergencies like cardiovascular diseases and stroke. They are well equipped and well trained at air ambulances and emergency health services. They are primary available help in emergency cases till the specialized healthcare professional arrives. They are also trained in medical emergencies for monitoring the patient’s vital statistics and in life-saving resuscitation treatment.

Nurses are well-trained, well specialized and well communicative faculty in the health care system, who become the primary supportive system in managing the needs of the patients and the doctors.

Quality Monitor
Nurses provide a quality care and lead the hospital growth to the new statistics. They have become an integral part of improving the quality treatment of the health care sector.

Their care, gentle management of the patient, quality monitoring and the beyond bedside health service has led her to the new growths in the health care system.

In recent years, nurses which meant only females now referred to male nurse staff also. The men are now getting into the gentle care treatment as of females to serve the suffering mankind. This profession of nursing is a humble profession requiring a highly dedicated and selfless approach, which can only be managed and completely justified by the nurses alone.
